Studio Policies

Payment:

For students whose Lesson times and days are held for as regularly scheduled, Payment is requested in advance for the month.  Exceptions may be made on a case-by-case basis, but payment must be received in advance of each lesson. 

Cancellations:

• 24 hours notice must be given to the studio via phone or email to receive a make-up lesson. If notice is received less than 24 hours prior to the lesson, or if no notice is given, the lesson will be forfeited. Emergencies happen, but please note that same day notice of cancellation will not excuse payment obligations and a make up lesson will not be granted.

   If you know of upcoming scheduling conflicts due to school, extracurricular, and/or family commitments, please notify the studio as soon as possible.

• It is the responsibility of the parent/student to call and schedule make up lessons. Make up lessons will expire after 2 months or if the student discontinues lessons. Make up lessons can only be used by the student to which the make up lesson was issued.Once a make up lesson is added to the calendar, it cannot be rescheduled.

• Please note: Make up lessons cannot be used as payment/credit for future lessons. 

If I have to cancel a lesson, then I will do my best to offer accommodating makeup dates or offer a credit toward a future lesson. 

As always, I will continue to try to offer alternative time slots the same week, but as time slots fill up, this is not always possible.

Practicing:  

Consistent daily practice is essential to success when you are developing your voice. To help develop self-discipline and good work habits, a regular time for practice should be set aside each day.
 
Recording Lessons:
I encourage every student to record their lessons. This is a wonderful way to evaluate your progress and organize your weekly practice sessions. I will make practice tapes for students, as necessary, in order to facilitate daily practice.
 
Waiting List:  
I have set up a waiting list for those of you who have not yet been able to secure a regular time slot. As time slots become available I will refer to the waiting list, and schedule lessons accordingly. If you are currently on the waiting list and unable to secure a regular time slot please consider joining the studio Voice Class. The class is a great introduction to vocal technique and performance opportunities and will prepare you for a time slot as they becomes available.

Dismissal: 
Students will be dismissed from the studio for nonpayment, lack of preparation, perpetual cancelations and practice, or behavior unbecoming a professional artist.
 
Scheduling: 
Lessons will be scheduled by the semester. There will be three semesters in the year; Fall, Spring and Summer. Please make sure that your schedule is able to accommodate the studios semester schedule.

Arrivals and Departures: 
Please plan to arrive and enter the studio on the hour of your designated time slot. Please do not knock early. Lessons are often scheduled back-to-back both in person and virtually. It is distracting when students enter while another student is taking their lesson. 

Waiting Area: 
Feel free to wait on the front porch or in your car. If your are interested in the using the internet I will provide you with the password.
